“Pause and Breathe: Mindfulness for Everyday You” was a one-week youth exchange hosted in Paphos, Cyprus, bringing together 28 young people from four countries to explore mindfulness, emotional well-being, and personal balance. The project offered participants a space to reconnect with themselves, understand their emotions, and practise simple techniques to manage stress in their everyday lives.

The exchange focused on three key meditation practices — 5 senses meditation, breathwork, and body scan — and used them as tools to develop essential lifelong skills such as resilience, sustained attention, emotional regulation, gratitude, and self-awareness. Workshops also included reflection exercises, movement sessions, intercultural learning activities, journaling, group discussions, and confidence-building tasks.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in interactive mindfulness sessions, explored inner barriers and mindset patterns, and took part in collaborative activities that strengthened focus, presence, and stress-coping strategies. One of the highlights was the Wellbeing Webinar, designed and delivered by the four international teams, where participants facilitated online sessions on topics such as being present, connecting with the body, coping with emotions, and practising gratitude in daily life.

Beyond the structured sessions, the exchange created a supportive intercultural community where young people shared experiences, learned from each other’s perspectives, and built meaningful friendships. The final day was dedicated to reflection, gratitude practices, and planning how to integrate mindfulness into their future routines and communities.

The project successfully achieved its objectives: helping young people understand and practise mindfulness, strengthening their emotional resilience, and encouraging them to approach everyday challenges with calm, clarity, and confidence.
