“Into the Digital” was a 10-month Erasmus+ project designed to support youth workers in strengthening their digital skills and integrating modern tools into their everyday work with young people. Hosted by YETF in Paphos, the project brought together 25 youth workers from five organisations who wanted to improve their digital confidence, learn new tools, and adapt traditional non-formal methods to the digital space.

The main aim of the project was to enhance youth workers’ ability to use digital tools effectively and make their activities more engaging, interactive, and relevant to young people. Throughout the mobility, participants explored 10 innovative digital tools, ranging from collaboration platforms to creative apps, learning how to apply them in youth work settings. They also worked on adapting their own toolboxes for online and hybrid environments, transforming non-formal methods into digital formats.

Workshops focused on digital transformation, identifying barriers to digital use, and developing practical strategies to overcome them. Participants gained hands-on experience with online facilitation, experimented with virtual components during in-person activities, and practised delivering digital workshops to international audiences.

The programme also addressed important aspects of online well-being and safety, offering discussions on digital addiction, hate speech, online risk management, and healthy digital habits. Through reflection sessions, group work, and practical exercises, youth workers strengthened their self-confidence, learned to manage their digital tasks more effectively, and developed a clearer understanding of how to use technology with purpose.

By the end of the project, all participants felt more equipped to use digital tools, more confident in facilitating hybrid or online activities, and more capable of integrating innovative digital approaches into youth programmes. The training course succeeded in modernising their practice and empowering them to bring fresh digital energy into their organisations.
