“EU Teams for EU Dreams” was a Training Course hosted by YETF in Paphos, designed for youth workers, teachers, trainers, and volunteers who wanted to improve their team-management and team-building skills. The project responded to a common challenge in the youth sector: how to build strong, motivated, communicative teams that work well together and support young people effectively.
The aim of the training course was to create a safe, practical learning environment where participants could “learn by doing” while strengthening their understanding of how teams form, how communication evolves, and how to guide groups through challenges. The programme brought together both experienced and newly-arrived youth workers who shared a strong motivation to improve their leadership and coordination skills.
Throughout the mobility, participants explored team-development models, communication dynamics, and personality differences within groups. They learned a variety of non-formal methods related to team building, trust building, conflict management, motivation strategies, and delegation, and practised them during group exercises, simulations, and collaborative tasks.
The course also focused on building confidence: helping youth workers feel more secure in guiding groups, addressing tensions, making decisions, and keeping young people engaged. By the end of the project, participants had gained valuable tools to manage group processes more effectively and to create positive, constructive team environments.
“EU Teams for EU Dreams” strengthened the capacity of youth workers to coordinate diverse groups, solve conflicts, maintain motivation, and support young people through teamwork — contributing directly to higher-quality youth activities within their organisations.
