“Make It Happen” was a strategic training course hosted by YETF in Paphos and implemented together with six international partners. The project emerged from a shared mission: to equip youth workers with the skills needed to develop high-quality Erasmus+ projects that respond to real needs within their communities. Over 10 months, the initiative succeeded in strengthening the capacities of 27 youth workers and all partner organisations in every phase of project design — from identifying problems to planning, writing, implementing, and disseminating results.
During the training course, participants learned how to use essential project-planning tools such as the problem tree, needs assessment, SMART objectives, and non-formal methodology design. They explored how to create coherent learning curricula, structure youth exchanges and training courses, and build activities that genuinely address young people’s realities.
One of the major achievements of the project was the practical application of these new skills. Working in international teams, participants co-designed and submitted nine Training Course applications for the February 2024 deadline — far exceeding the original target of five. These submissions reflected strong teamwork, creativity, and a better understanding of how to shape impactful Erasmus+ initiatives.
Throughout the mobility, youth workers also enhanced key soft skills such as confidence, facilitation, teamwork, and motivation. Many participants reported feeling more prepared to take initiative, propose ideas, and lead project-writing processes within their organisations.
For the partner organisations, the project strengthened international cooperation and created a solid foundation for future collaboration. By the end of the project, teams had formed clear partnerships, identified future directions, and built a shared vision for high-quality European youth work.
